Posted by Jordan | Posted in Business, Entrepreneur, Home Based Business, Internet marketing, Self Improvement, Small Business, leadership | Posted on 03-20-10

I gotta get this out there for all you wannabe entrepreneurs.  Here is a quick experiential learning exercise for all of you thinking about going into business for yourself. If you can make it through this exercise for one week I personally GUARANTEE you that entrepreneurial ism is right for you. If you can’t I just saved you thousands in start up costs and expect you to make a small donation to a charity of your choice. Honestly the road to any home business or start up company is riddled with the dead bodies of wannabe’s and day dreamers. These people were more in love with the idea of working for themselves then actually helping others.

OK here is the exercise, you will need an alarm clock, shower & towel. OK for all you people thinking dirty thoughts clean it up & stay focused, this is the cheapest most effective way to decide if you have “IT” basically what it takes……. Read the rest of this entry »

Why Should I Listen To You?

Posted by Jordan | Posted in Business, Entrepreneur, Self Improvement | Posted on 03-19-10

If someone you don’t even know, or at the very least, had a vague familiarity with was to walk up to you and then start to engage you in a conversation laced with great enthusiasm, excitement and big smiles, what would you think?  Not that we would ever do that – right?

After viewing an interview with Les Brown, a well-known consultant and guest speaker, I came to the realization that what he was saying was so true.  He really simplified it for me, and I will share this idea with as many people as possible, because I think it will make us better at working with others and help us understand why some will and some won’t want to listen to you.   Each person we talk with will have these three basic questions. What does financial freedom mean to you? For some it means freedom from debt and for others it means to own a one hundred foot yacht.  Whatever your definition, financial freedom represents a goal to be attained as you continue on this part of your life journey.

On our journey to financial freedom, we often become impatient and feel unfulfilled.  We can waste time hoping for the future instead of enjoying our today.  Though we need to keep our eyes fixed on our future goal, we should not lose sight of the beauty of our present.

There are little miracles happening all around you.  Did you make your first sale?  Did you get your first website up Read the rest of this entry »

I see so many leaders in the Internet marketing sector who are respected and trusted in the industry.   When I think about their campaigns, I realize one of the common threads among them – they never lose the ability to learn from others.  It is hard to remain humble when you reach the pinnacle of your Internet career and establish your expert status, but these leaders remain teachable, a great quality that will reward them with continued success.

How can these great minds keep learning when they already know so much?   Even though the great minds are very knowledgeable of their industry, there is always more to learn and experience.  You are never too smart Read the rest of this entry »

Dig Your Well Before You Are Thirsty

Posted by Jordan | Posted in Business, Entrepreneur, Self Improvement, Social Networking | Posted on 03-10-10

My father has made a point of reminding his children, I have three brothers and a sister, that if there is anything that he learned over his years of working in corporate America with various companies, it is that you should never throw away your Rolodex. That is one of those old-fashioned rotating business card holders that has now been replaced by social networking. Thank goodness.

I get his point, however, which is that you should always maintain and actually nurture your network of friends and associates. That includes Read the rest of this entry »

Life Has A Windshield

Posted by Jordan | Posted in Self Improvement | Posted on 03-05-10

You know you spend much more time while you are behind the steering wheel in your own car looking through that windshield and much less time looking at the rear view mirror.

That is not to say that you shouldn’t take time to glance into the rear view mirror to check for danger so you can negotiate the road ahead safer and with more efficiency.  But there is no way that you are going to concentrate on your review mirror as the primary view of things unless you want to crash and burn and take others with you. Posted by Jordan | Posted in Network Marketing, Self Improvement | Posted on 02-18-10

Have you ever put on your dress shirt or a blouse and got to the last button only to find out that you had one too many buttons or one too few button holes?  The only way to resolve the problem is to unbutton all of the buttons and start all over at the very beginning.  Talk about frustrating and time consuming.
