What is an O-Spend-O-Meter?

Ever since President Barack Obama has taken office, he has had the hopes of coming to our nation’s rescue.  His plan of attack has been simple: Big government planning, spending, and taxing—exactly what our nation, business world, and stock market doesn’t want to hear.  The Obama spend-o-meter is in the trillions with no end in sight.  It’s the middle class that will ultimately shoulder this fiscal burden in terms of higher taxes and lower growth.  This isn’t free enterprise.  It is good old fashioned-liberal tax, spend, and regulate.  It’s plain ol’ big government.

Obama would like voters to believe that he’s the second coming of JFK.  But with his unbelievable spending and new government-agency proposals he’s looking more and more like Jimmy Carter.  His is a grow the government bureaucracy plan and it is totally at odds with investment and business.  Not only is he a big-spending president, Read the rest of this entry »

What Democracy?

We have all heard the term “Big Government.”  If you were to ask 20 different people the definition of this term I’m sure you would probably get somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 different answers.  It generally represents the ideology that the government has the best possible process for governing its citizens’ lives.  “BG” knows what you should eat better than you do.  “BG” knows what information should be taught to your children better than you do.  And “BG” knows how to invest your money better than you do. There are numerous other examples that “BG” knows how to do better than you.  Let’s take a moment and review a quick snap-shop of some accomplishments “Big Government” has mastered since its existence.  No one in their right mind would ever want to think for him or herself after reading this awe inspiring list of achievements:

High Tech Helping Hands

The political world is active.  Economies are uncertain.  Public trust is vanishing.  Individuals feel at risk.  And social structures wears thin. However, as Mother Nature recently displayed her vengeance and supremacy in extraordinary and powerful ways in the country of Haiti, we have seen an outpouring of human kindness and self sacrifice.

People are putting aside their day-to-day position and concerns on these issues and are truly reaching out to help. The moral basis of civility is the Golden Rule.  This ethic of reciprocity reminds us all of our responsibility toward one another and reinforces the communal nature of human life.

By joining hands and working together to help this impoverished country we can eliminate the weakness of one standing alone and substitute for it the strength of people working together. Read the rest of this entry »
